FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about the Hamburg City Pass

The Hamburg City Pass offers you free admission to over 40 attractions and activities in Hamburg. These include well-known sights like the Michel (St. Michael's Church), numerous museums (e.g., the International Maritime Museum or the museum ship Rickmer Rickmers) as well as leisure facilities like the Panoptikum or blacklight mini golf.

Additionally, a hop-on-hop-off city tour, a harbor cruise on the Elbe, an Alster cruise as well as exciting city tours are included at no extra cost. Optionally, you can also book the pass with public transport ticket - then all public transport (HVV) in the city area can be used free of charge for the duration of the pass.

The Hamburg City Pass activates automatically on the first day that you selected as the start date when booking. From this point on, the pass is valid for the number of consecutive days you booked (selectable from 1 to 7 days).

Important: The validity days must be directly consecutive and cannot be interrupted. You should use your pass for the first time within 12 months from the purchase date - the first visit to an attraction permanently activates the pass.

Each attraction included in the City Pass can only be visited once for free per pass. A second visit to the same sight is not covered with the same pass during the validity period.

If you book the Hamburg City Pass including public transport, you receive an HVV ticket for the tariff zone AB for the booked duration. This allows you to use all public transport of the Hamburg Transport Association:

  • S-trains
  • U-trains
  • Buses (including express buses)
  • Harbor ferries

Note: This public transport use is optional and only included if you selected the "With public transport ticket" variant.

Yes! The Hamburg City Pass with public transport also entitles you to travel to/from Hamburg Airport. The airport is located in HVV zone AB, so the journey e.g. with S-train line S1 from the airport to the city center is completely included in the pass.

With the booked public transport option, you can board the S-train directly at the airport and travel to the city center without an additional ticket.

With the Hamburg City Pass you get free and often also priority entry to many top attractions in the city. In practice, you can usually go directly to the attraction and don't need to buy a separate ticket on site.

Important note: However, the pass does not automatically provide general fast-track access (guaranteed priority without queuing) at every attraction. Whether priority entry is possible depends on the respective sight.

Yes, there are three age categories with tiered prices:

  • Adults (from 18 years)
  • Teenagers (15-17 years) - reduced price
  • Children (3-14 years) - reduced price

Toddlers under 3 years usually do not need their own pass, as they receive free admission to most attractions anyway.

You receive the Hamburg City Pass directly after purchase via email. The pass comes as a digital ticket (PDF) that you can print yourself or show on your smartphone.

Physical shipping is not necessary - you can start at the attractions immediately with the ticket delivered via email.

Yes! Special cancellation rules apply to the Hamburg City Pass: If you cancel up to 24 hours before the planned usage date, no cancellation fees apply.

Important: If the cancellation occurs later than 24 hours before the start date, no refund is possible. The pass must not have been used yet.

Since the Hamburg City Pass is provided digitally via email, you don't need to worry about loss. If you have misplaced the printout or PDF file, you can download or print the pass again at any time from the original email.

If you can't find the email with the ticket (also check your spam folder), you can contact Turbopass customer service - they will help you recover your pass.

No, the Hamburg City Pass is person-bound and not transferable. Each pass is issued in one name and is only valid for the corresponding person.

However, you can of course also purchase City Passes for friends or family members and have them booked in their names.
